Biography

About

Sven Kunisch, Ph.D., is Associate Professor at Aarhus University (Denmark). He has held permanent and visiting positions at University of St.Gallen (Switzerland), Harvard Business School (Harvard University, USA), Saïd Business School (Oxford University, UK) and WU Vienna (Austria). Dr. Kunisch earned a Ph.D. in Management from the University of St.Gallen (summa cum laude) and a diploma in Business Informatics, a degree focused on the intersection of Business Administration and Computer Science.

Dr. Kunisch started his professional life in the automotive industry as an intern with Porsche. Thereafter, he joined Accenture as a management consultant. He then became the Editor-in-Chief of the M&A REVIEW, a German monthly focused on mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliances. At the same time, he joined the Ph.D. program in Management at the University of St. Gallen. At the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) he also served as the Executive Director of the Master’s program in Business Management, which was ranked #9 globally by QS Business Schools Rankings 2019 among the General Management programs (#10 in QS Business Schools Rankings 2018).

His research interests focus on corporate strategy, corporate headquarters, strategic change and executive successions. Recently, he has also started to research into how digitalization and automation affect firms´ strategies. His work has been published in several leading management journals. He has also co-edited several management books on topics such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategic Leadership and the Demographic Change. He serves on several Editorial Boards.
